Covid Testing 2021
Creating a Safe Event
We are working with Tested.me to try and secure a safe event. This is voluntary but we encourage all our guests to do this.
We have been planning for all eventualities and despite the fact there was an announcement by Boris Johnson that Covid-19 restrictions will be removed from the 19th of July, we are still committed to making sure that LakeFest is as safe as possible.
Eastnor Castle is a large site and the majority of the festival is outdoors, however some areas will be busier than others, therefore we are asking you to use your own discretion around mask wearing and social distancing.
We have made a number of changes this year to the site plan to make the site as safe as possible this includes moving our main arena to an outside stage and adding a number of outdoor bars.
We understand that for many of you, this will be the first time you have been in contact with large groups and to ensure everyone is comfortable and remains safe, we are asking that everyone attending LakeFest takes 2 rapid antigen (lateral flow) tests. One of these must be taken 72 hours in advance with the 2nd taken on the day of your arrival.
We have teamed up with tested.me, a digital health pass to enable you to share your test results with us both safely and securely.
By participating in this testing, we will be helping to create a Covid-19 free space where everyone can relax and enjoy themselves.
In addition to the testing it should also be made clear that anyone who falls into the following categories should NOT attend LakeFest:
- If someone is displaying symptoms of COVID 19
- If someone has been legally required by NHS Test and Trace/Public Health England to self-isolate – whether as cases or as contacts of a case
- those who have been pinged by the Test and Trace App
To ensure this process is cost free, simple and seamless, we have partnered with tested.me to allow you to test at home, securely store the results on your tested.me app and share your Covid free status with us at Lakefest.
Tested.me puts the individual in control of their data meaning you have full control and can decide what is shared and when. It is fully GDPR compliant and Lakefest will not receive any further personal data other than a summary of your Covid status.
More details will follow in the next few days so please watch this space!

Why are we using tested.me?
Whilst the Government has relaxed the legislation around large gatherings, the use of testing as a method to ensure people are safe before entering is still being advised. By using tested.me we are able to see that everyone has complied with our testing policy in a simple and secure manner and thereby help to protect our visitors, employees and performers from undue risk.
Is testing compulsory?
We have decided not to make testing compulsory BUT the more people who do act responsibly by testing and sharing their status with us, the safer the event will be for everyone.
We have all spent a lot of our time over the past 18 months missing out on great experiences such as LakeFest and if we all act together, we can ensure that we can continue to operate safely in the future.
What are the testing requirements for entry?
We are asking that everyone attending LakeFest takes 2 rapid antigen (lateral flow) tests. One of these to be taken 72 hours in advance with the 2nd taken on the day of your arrival.
How do I access a Lateral Flow Test
Tested.me allows you to use any government approved rapid antigen (lateral flow test). These tests are available free from pharmacies and some community centres such as libraries.
If, for any reason, you cannot access the free Government issued tests please click here to order a Hughes Healthcare Test. The Hughes Healthcare test has CE Marking, MHRA and BfArM (the German equivalent of the MHRA) accreditation and are home use approved in the UK and EU. We recommend it due to its ease and comfort of use as well as high combined accuracy results.

How do I upload a test to my event?
We will send out specific ‘How to’ instructions nearer the event.
I am double vaccinated; do I still need to test?
Whilst the vaccine provides great protection against catching and passing on Covid 19, to create the safest and most equitable event we can, we are asking that everyone tests regardless of whether they have been vaccinated or not.
Tested.me acts as your personal digital health wallet allowing you to store, manage and share your vaccine status safely. Please feel free to upload your vaccine status onto your tested.me account although you will not need to share this for LakeFest.
What happens if I test positive?
If you, or one of your household, test positive using either Lateral Low Test or are displaying symptoms of COVID-19, please help us keep everyone else safe and do not attend Lakefest until you have had a negative PCR test.
For up-to-date Government advice on receiving a positive test, please click here.
If you test positive or feel unsafe then we will honour your ticket and rollover your ticket to 2022.
What if I feel unwell whilst I am at LakeFest?
Anyone on the event site who starts to feel unwell, or shows any symptoms of COVID-19, should immediately isolate themselves from other event goers and look to take a PCR test. This is sent away to a laboratory and can take up to 2 days. Entry will not be allowed until proof of this test is displayed via the tested.me app.
An isolation/quarantine area will be located at the event site for persons feeling unwell with symptoms of COVID-19.
Is my data secure?
Tested.me puts your health data in your hands allowing you to share what you want, with who you want, when you want and is 100% GDPR compliant.
The requirements to attend LakeFest will be confirmed in the ‘How To’ guide which will be shared closer to the event. The only data that is shared with LakeFest is a Green Tick to show you have met the requirements put in place.
